Canberra’s Annual GLBTI Pride Festival is on again!

The SpringOUT Pride Festival is Canberra’s annual queer cultural festival held each November, and is a celebration of the vibrancy of the local Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender and Intersex (GLBTI) communities.

SpringOUT is a project of Canberra Pride and has been held annually since 1999. This year the two-week long festivities will be launched with SpringOUT Fairday on Saturday, 3rd November, held on the grounds of Westlund House, home of the AIDS Action Council of the ACT.
Canberra’s own SpringOUT has many queer events familiar to larger city pride attendees including; Fairday, dance parties, Drag Kings and Queens, youth and family events, as well as a range of cultural, artistic and political events showcasing the best that Canberra’s queer community has to offer.

New events are added to the festival program each year. Events already on this year’s calendar include Westlund House SpringOUT Fairday, the SpringOUT Pride Awards, a women’s dance and the Canberra Pink Tennis Bushdance. An event application form will be made available shortly on the SpringOUT website, www.springout.com.au.
Every year we continue to see the events, which rely on the resources of the fabulous volunteers and groups running them, grow in attendance. We look forward to seeing old and new faces from the ACT region, interstate, and further abroad, come together to celebrate Canberra’s queer culture; a unique combination of red tape and rainbow sequins!
Information about the 2012 SpringOUT Pride Festival can be found at: www.springout.com.au

The 2012 SpringOUT Pride Festival will be held 3rd – 18th November 2012.
