HARBOUR PARTY 2015 A HIGHLIGHT FOR ALL

Nestled in the heart of the lush Royal Botanic Gardens, accompanied by spectacular harbour views, Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras’ Harbour Party returned with a bang on Saturday 28th February 2015.The three thousand-strong crowd enjoyed eight hours of non-stop tunes, making the event a joyous, loud and proud affair!

Headlining act Kiesza added fire to the party with her smash hit ‘Hideaway’ and kept hands in the air throughout her set. The Canadian songstress was a definite highlight with the revelers and provided a much anticipated high-energy performance. Aussie starlet Samantha Jade provided one of the night’s most powerful performances singing her biggest hits plus her new single ‘Sweet Talk’.

DJ Kitty Glitter, winner of Sydney’s favourite DJ every year since 2007, did not disappoint. Her uplifting energy radiated across the dance-floor with her vocal house/remixed pop set. The fun-filled night continued with UK dance group Bimbo Jones fronted by DJ Lee Dagger and kept the festival pumping while other acts including DJ Du Jour and DJ Dan Murphy, who kept the atmosphere bursting with excitement.

“Harbour Party is a truly spectacular event, and a highlight of Mardi Gras every year. The 2015 edition was definitely an unforgettable celebration and we’d like to thank the community for coming along supporting the event,” said Mardi Gras Chief Executive Officer Michael Rolik.

A diverse group of local and international partygoers enjoyed performers and DJs from all over Australia and overseas. The crowd had dancing on their mind and that’s exactly what they did. With the newly improved stage and sensational line-up meant everyone could enjoy the best of what Harbour Party had to offer.

The open air setting provided glittering views of the city over the harbour and the cocktail bar gave respite to the over-danced and under-hydrated. Joining in on the fun was Jake Shears of Scissor Sisters fame, one of the special guest performers at this weekend’s Mardi Gras Party. The celebrations ended at 11pm and left people wanting more.

Rolik said, “With the outstanding success of Harbour Party we’re now looking forward to Mardi Gras Party this Saturday night. The Party line-up is the strongest in years with Dannii Minogue, Nick Jonas, Jessica Mauboy and more, and we’re looking forward to welcoming all our communities to celebrate Mardi Gras ’15 in style.
