WATCH OUT SYDNEY! IT’S MONSOON SEASON!

WATCH OUT SYDNEY! IT’S MONSOON SEASON!

Jinkx Monsoon, reigning queen of RuPaul’s Drag Race makes her Australian debut with co-star Major Scales, performing at Sydney’s Mardi Gras festival as part of a 3-month Australian festival tour.

Seattle’s premiere Jewish narcoleptic drag queen and season 5 winner of Logo Tv’s RuPaul’s Drag Race, Jinkx Monsoon, will bring her sell-out, 5-time extended, off-Broadway hit The Vaudevillians to major Sydney as a part of the Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras Festival this February

THE VAUDEVILLIANS – The Hottest act ever frozen alive has returned from the 1920’s, reclaiming their original hits ‘Girls Just Wanna Have Fun’, ‘Drop it like it’s Hot’ and more!

The drag-comedy sensation and alter ego of Jerick Hoffer, will reprise her role as Kitty Witless, alongside co-star and co-writer Richard Andriessen, better known as Dr. Dan von Dandy, performing at the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras, the world’s most spectacular celebration of LGBTQI pride and diversity.

The New York Times writes, “Straight or gay, everyone leaves this show with sides aching from laughter.” Called “a pure delight” (The New York Times), “comedic genius” (Show Business Weekly), “hilarious” (Broadway World), as well as “intelligent and entertaining” (Theater Mania), “The Vaudevillians” has amazed audiences since its inception. Even RuPaul proclaimed the performance “a triumph!”

Time-travellers from a century ago, the show’s starring duo are 1920s performers who toured speakeasies and burlesque theatres. They have emerged from a deep freeze in Antarctica to present their act just as they did before they were caught in an avalanche and frozen alive. Now, Witless and the good doctor are on a quest to reclaim their music—songs like “Girls Just Want to Have Fun,” about the suffragettes, and “Drop It Like It’s Hot,” about the invention of the electric iron.

Presented by award winning Strut & Fret Production House, the Melbourne based company behind international touring artists and productions, Le Gateau Chocolat, LIMBO, Cantina, Tom Thum, The Tom Tom Crew and Strange Fruit.
